Fundraising Terms and Conditions

​1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions apply to all fundraising activities conducted by [Your Organisation Name], including (but not limited to) online donations, in-person collections, auctions, and ticketed fundraising events. By participating in or contributing to these activities, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

2. Purpose of Fundraising

Funds raised will be used to support the mission and objectives of Rhythm of Hope CIC and Food for the Poor Jamaica (FFTPJA), including  community resilience, hurricane recovery efforts, education and cultural events. Where a specific campaign is mentioned, funds will be directed toward that initiative unless circumstances require otherwise (see Clause 6).

3. Use of Funds

All donations and proceeds will be used with care and discretion to support the stated fundraising goals. In cases where:

• A campaign exceeds its target,

• A campaign is cancelled or restructured,

• Or the original intent is no longer viable,

We reserve the right to allocate the funds toward similar charitable or operational objectives in line with our values and stated mission.

4. Transparency and Accountability

We are committed to transparency. A summary of funds raised and how they are spent will be made available upon request or through our campaign reporting channels. For major campaigns, financial updates may be published on our website or social media platforms.

5. Refund Policy

Donations are voluntary and non-refundable. We will only consider refund requests in the case of:

• Duplicate transactions,

• Fraudulent activity (with proof),

• Technical payment errors.

Requests must be submitted in writing within 7 days of the donation to management@rohja.org

6. Third-Party Platforms

We may use third-party platforms (e.g., Stripe, PayPal, Eventbrite, GalaBid, Givebutter) to collect donations and sell tickets. These platforms may apply transaction or service fees, and their own terms of service and privacy policies apply. We are not responsible for technical issues or payment delays related to these platforms.

7. Donor Privacy

Donor information is collected solely for the purpose of processing payments, providing receipts, and improving our services. We do not sell or share donor data. By donating, you agree to receive transactional communications and (if opted in) future updates. You may unsubscribe at any time.

8. Tax and Gift Aid (UK only)

If you are a UK taxpayer, your donation may be eligible for Gift Aid. We may contact you to confirm your status and collect a Gift Aid declaration. You are responsible for ensuring the accuracy of any tax-related submissions.

9. Fundraising Participation

Participants in fundraising activities (e.g. volunteers, event hosts, brand partners) agree to act with integrity and in accordance with local laws and regulations. Misuse of branding or funds may result in removal from the initiative and possible legal action.

10. Amendments

We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. The latest version will always be available on our website or campaign page.
